Carburizing, Carbo-Nitriding & Through Hardening
AHTS can process up to 18,000 lbs/day for Carburizing & Carbo-Nitriding for sizes up to 27” Vertically, 50” Horizontally.
AHTS can process up to 22,000 lbs /day for Through Hardening for sizes up to 27” Vertically, 50” Horizontally.
Our Specialty is Heat treating of Core lifters and Cases with excellent Surface Finish and Minimum Distortion on very thin Walled parts with quick turnaround.
Continuous/ Batch Austempering:
AHTS has added State of the art and most versatile Austempering Line. Austempering is a specialized process that provides exceptional distortion control and toughness at high hardness. This is achieved by isothermally transforming Steel to produce predominantly Bainitic Microstructure. For Parts that are too thick and heavy for continuous Austempering, AHTS is capable of processing them in Batch furnace.
Gas Nitriding
AHTS can handle lengths up to 58” vertically in Gas Nitriding. AHTS performs 2 stage Gas Nitriding process to control white layer. We have developed a special gaseous Nitriding process. The process makes the surface active before start of the actual Nitriding process thereby giving uniform case depth and hardness on surface of Stainless Steel parts. This gives excellent wear resistance on the Stainless Steel parts.
Induction Hardening
AHTS has installed an Induction Hardening Machine of 10 kHz with 250 kW capacity. The unit is capable to scan parts upto 30” in length. It can harden the ends of the tube only upto 10 feet length. AHTS has been Heat Treating of Drill Rods for the past few years (These Drill Rods in the form of tubes between 2.25” – 4” I.D. and 2.54”-4.375” O.D.). The lengths of these Drill Rods are 10 Feet and are Induction Hardened up to 12” at each end. These are through hardened up to ¼” Wall thickness.
